The Early Learning
Program educates children ages two to six years. This program fosters the cognitive,
language, social, adaptive, and motor development
for each child enrolled by providing enriched learning
and socialization opportunities. These opportunities
are provided through an inclusive curriculum, children
with autism and typically developing peers learning
side by side.
Our curriculum is based on
promising practices using empirically-based strategies
to produce data driven IEP's and
quarterly
progress
reports.
The directors of the Auburn University Autism Center served as consultants for the development of the program.
The Early Learning Program curriculum
is speech and language based, with the behavioral
and occupational therapy needs considered on an individual
basis. Therapists from the
Multidisciplinary Resource Center
will
consult at the program development level as well
as on an individual basis.
All children in the Early Learning Program benefit
from the social and academic enrichment opportunities.
With early intervention and enriched experiences,
children with Autism Spectrum Disorder as well as
typically developing peers are optimally prepared
for the challenges of elementary school.
